Sooo exciting, Jake Lumbard was born today! A new baby in the family is so fun! I wish we could meet him soon, but will just have to wait for a meeting of the boys sometime later in 2009 or early 2010!
Amanda is recovering! Well done!

More Baby Shopping!!!
This week, I went to Babies R Us with GG (Callene) and then shopping with GG and Aunt Bethany. Again, it was an overwhelming experience to see all the different kinds of baby gear and stuff that comes with being a new parent.
Fortunately, I think we are pretty much registered at this point. We registered online at Amazon.com (yes, they do baby stuff too!) and at Babies R Us. If you are feeling frisky, check out all the crazy stuff that is out there for babies of all ages - can't wait to see if Firefly likes cars as much as his daddy, maybe he will get a car bed someday!
This week we have lots of things to look forward to! Jeff and Amanda are likely welcoming their little baby boy to the world this week! We are thinking of the family and know that the little Lumbard will come out just wonderful on Tuesday, 3.31.
The arrival of baby Lumbard will usher in the April birthdays, which start with Kevin on April Fool's day (4.1), then Amanda Lumbard (4.3), GG (4.5) and cousin Emma (4.8). Once that week is over we are excited that the Nelson family is coming for an Easter visit!!!! Yippeee!!!!
It will be an exciting week and I hope to post more photos next week.
BTW, Firefly is doing fine, just kicking away and making me very hungry!
Talk to you all soon.
Love, Andrea, Kevin and Firefly

Week 22 - Cruising right along!
This week was good, sorry for being a little late. I have been trying to figure out how to post a copy of the photo from our ultrasound on Friday to this blog... Unfortunately, still trying to figure it out!
Kevin and I enjoyed the ultrasound on Friday because the tech was nicer and Firefly was behaving better for the pictures. We saw his head - normal size for his age - and most other things are either right on track or a couple of weeks bigger than normal. He weighs 1 lb 4 oz which is a little big for his age, but still very good. We are excited for a big healthy boy!
On Saturday, we made our first venture to Babies R' Us. It was a little crazy and I only lasted an hour before I started giggling at every single thing we looked it. At that point, we decided it was enough for one day! I can't believe all the stuff that they have for babies! It is crazy!
Here is a photo of my baby bump - I am definitely seeing and feeling him everyday now! It is exciting and a little scary!

Busy week, but not much to report!
Well, this week is week 21. I did feel Firefly move and it was amazing! I immediately jumped out of bed and ran to tell Kevin about it. Of course, then I laid back down and begged for him to move again! But, of course he did not comply. I am sure it is just signs of my life to come for the next 20 years!
On Sunday we went to the park with the dogs and they were crazy jumpers! We are really trying to get them used to not being the center of attention so hopefully the transition with Firefly won't be too hard on them.

I started emptying out the baby's room last weekend and will continue to do so this weekend. We will need to sell some furniture on craigslist, cause we just don't have the room for it any more... If you are interested in a computer desk or a china hutch, let me know! I'll give you a good deal! :)
This week we also decided to change doctors since I am no longer high risk. I am happy to say that I will be going to my family doctor and luckily she will also be Firefly's doc! Yippee! I killed 2 birds with one stone! Now we will go to Everett Providence hospital for the birth and they have a really nice Women's center. Its good!

20 weeks - 5 months seems both long and short.
No exciting news this week yet other than we are officially at the 5 month mark! It feels good to be here and I am sure glad to have made it! To think just another 4 months and little Firefly will be in our arms for good is a little overwhelming. We still have much to do to convert the "drop & run room" into a baby elephant sanctuary!
We got our rocking chair and it is already helping me out quite a bit. Its wonderful to be able to get up on my own again! Luckily it fits well in our living room - not sure if it will go into Firefly's room, but it will certainly get a lot of use.
I am still waiting to feel Firefly kick/move, but it is coming eventually. I am sure I will be overwhelmed I do finally feel him. This is our next milestone, so of course I will update everyone when we get there!
Kev and I were talking this week and I realized suddenly that Firefly will have to register for a draft. This revelation really struck me and is certainly making me think differently about a draft than I ever did before - even though I don't have to worry about it for 18+ years... Its interesting all the things that come up once you know the gender of your child.
Hope all is well with everyone and will givve another update at least next week! Have a good week!
